Mike Ratcliffe richtte Wine Business Advisors op in 2016 en heeft sindsdien zijn brede ervaring met succes toegepast bij het adviseren van meer dan 50 klanten over de hele wereld. Mike was ongeveer twee decennia lang algemeen directeur van Warwick Estate met 1,4 miljoen flessen voordat hij overstapte naar het Californische risicokapitaalbedrijf Eileses in Silicon Valley. Mike was mede-oprichter van de Amerikaanse en Zuid-Afrikaanse joint venture Vilafonté, die onlangs werd uitgeroepen tot IWSC 2021 'Outstanding producer of the Year'. Mike werd genomineerd voor de Wine Enthusiast 'Wine Star' Award voor Global Innovator of the Year in 2015 en daarna opnieuw in 2017.

Tijdens zijn studie economie aan de Universiteit van Stellenbosch ontdekte Roland een voorliefde voor wijn en is hij sindsdien ondergedompeld in de industrie. Na 15 jaar leiding te hebben gegeven aan Wine Cellar, lanceerde hij Zuid-Afrika's eerste wijnbeleggingsproduct en was hij mede-oprichter van de Strauss & Co Fine Wine Auctions. Internationale zaken, studie en reizen hebben bijgedragen aan een diepgaand inzicht in de wereld van wijn. In 2021 bundelde Roland zijn krachten met Mike Ratcliffe als CEO van Wine Business Advisors eind 2021.
